How Melodic Techno Differs From Melodic House
Melodic techno is not melodic house. They share the word melodic, but they feel different.
Melodic house is warmer and more open. Melodic techno is darker and drives harder. The melody sits on top of a steady techno groove.
So listen to how the two parts work together. Solo the drums and the bass first. Then bring the melody in and hear how much it changes the mood.
How to Use This Project File
Study the arrangement
Mute a layer. Solo another. Watch what each device does to the sound. One real session teaches more than a pile of tutorials.
Rebuild it as your own
Keep the structure. Write new melodies and swap the sounds. That is how a template turns into your track.

License: Read This Before You Release
All audio files from Stereo Loops are royalty free. But a free Ableton melodic techno template still has one rule about melodies.
What the License Allows
What you can do
Use the template as a starting point. Take single layers and rework them. Release a track made with it commercially.
What you have to do
Change all the melodies. Your finished track must be clearly different from the original template. Releasing it as it is, is not allowed.
Common Mistakes With Free Templates
- Releasing it untouched. It breaks the license, and it won't sound like your own work anyway.
- Changing only one melody. If the main lines still sound like the template, your track is too close to the original.
- Burying the melody. In melodic techno the melody is the hook. Too many layers on top will hide it.
- Cutting the build short. The tension is part of the sound. Listen to the whole arrangement before you shorten anything.
